Burlington, MA, August 31,
2000 - Interactive Enterprise Ltd., a leading provider of mediation
and provisioning solutions for broadband operators, today announced
that its CONEXON Mediation and Provisioning Platform has won the
Communications Technology's Readers Choice Award in the Network
Diagnosis category.
The Communications Technology's Readers Choice Awards is the premier
product awards program for broadband operators that are buying,
building, and maintaining broadband networks. Sponsored by Communications
Technology magazine, the official trade journal of the Society of
Cable Telecommunications Engineers, the Readers Choice Award is
the most coveted and respected award by cable decision makers.
"A fast-paced industry calls for quick acquisition of new skills,
such as network provisioning," said Jonathan Tombes, Deployment
Editor, Communications Technology. "Our panel thought that Conexon
is helping to bridge that experience gap and could greatly improve
efficiency on the delivery front and in the business office."
"To win this Reader's Choice Award is a tremendous acknowledgement
that we have indeed developed a software integration product that
is high on the 'Must-Have' list of cable operators," said Tom Higgins,
Chief Executive Officer, Interactive Enterprise Ltd. "The all-inclusive
mediation abilities of CONEXON are what will enable the roll-out
of broadband services wherever an operator a wants, whatever the
existing infrastructure and billing system."
CONEXON Wins Network Diagnosis Award CONEXON is a software-based
platform that interconnects between disparate systems, broadband
services and devices. CONEXON links and manages customer premise
equipment, broadband content services, the communications devices
that deliver the content, and operator back-office support systems
for end-to-end integration of both standards-based and proprietary
devices and systems. A key component of the product adds intelligence
to the network and acts as a mediator between home devices and the
operator's back-office systems.
Interactive Enterprise's CONEXON solution enables broadband operators
to rapidly deploy and integrate high-speed data, Voice Over IP (VoIP),
and interactive services. CONEXON meets the specific requirements
of MSO's in the management of interactive service offerings by providing
plug and play interfaces into DOCSIS and proprietary cable modems,
digital set top boxes, network management systems, operator support
systems and content services. It allows customers to auto provision
their home devices, self subscribe to services and self manage their
accounts through a web interface, dramatically reducing installation
and management overheads. It enables the operator to provide on-line
support increasing customer satisfaction and reducing demands on
customer service representatives.
